Today my fellow fashion minded friends, it’s a good day. Oh yes it is. The delightful, incredible, and down right spectacular Emma Stone has landed her first Vogue cover. It’s been a long time coming though it has to be said – if you’re a regular reader of the style bible you’ll know she’s been featured MANY a time inside, and now thanks to the huge juggernaut that is The Amazing Spiderman, she’s gracing the cover. Now, I am of course in love, but I can’t help but wish she had her amazing red hair for the cover… And now back to the Emma love.
Oh British Vogue! You have excelled yourself. Well done. A very nice letter shall be sent home with you tonight to share with your parents. I expect it might even make the fridge, yes, the work you have done really is that good. Greatly improved. Please continue in this new wave of excellence. And employ Mert & Marcus to shoot more of your covers please.
I’ve professed my love of Jennifer Lopez previously, or as I still like to refer to her Jenny From The Block. Even when she’s getting it wrong she’s just getting it so right at the same time? I think with a face like that, very little else matters. And what a face, look at it. Look… at… it.
I’m never going to condone the use of the words ‘fabulously fit’ as a cover line, but still, she’s looking all kinds of incredible for the cover. Swoon.
The subject of the cover is a another bit of a shocker too, Rooney Mara – star of the upcoming US version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
Two of the shots from her editorial are really quite beautiful, and incredibly fresh for Mert & Marcus.
(NB : This is sarcasm. They love a girl doing an Ophelia. Repetitive beauty.)
The film’s been causing a bit of a fashion ruckus lately, with Michelle Williams covering Vogue as Marilyn, and Vogue Paris and British Vogue both featuring Marilyn inspired covers, she’s definitely having a revival.
It’s going to be this season’s most fashionable film, for sure.
